Certified lab hussler.
I finished up finals with a somewhat lackluster performance. Oh well. I'm just glad it's all over.

I'm just about to complete my first week working at Invitrogen as a R&D intern. I'm working on a really great project and spending a good amount of my time in the lab with the chemicals, where I like to be :-).

Sometimes I just lose myself in all the molecules. There are so many molecules. Seriously, you would not believe how many mocules there are. Molecules here. Molecules there. There really are molecules everywhere.

Anyway, it's a great job. I have 12 weeks to work on a project and develop a product and protocol that can be utilized in labs. Development involves running countless experiments and optimizing a protocol. I've got a ridiculous amount of freedom and most of the time no one is even checking out my work. My mentor is really cool too. He doesn't really seem to care too much what I'm doing, though I've been making a lot of mistakes in my calculations and experiments that I've been running. I guess failure is sometimes part of success.

Anyway, I've got to get up tomorow so I can run another experiment. Hopefully the weekend will be more exciting.
